Ohio's Lake Erie Steelhead Fishing Update

April 7, 2011 - Main rivers are off-color (brown) with moderate to high flows.
Smaller tribs will clear up and fish first as long as the rains hold off.  The ground is saturated, so any appreciable rains will bring streams up quickly.  Active fish have been found through the river systems during good fishing conditions.  Spinfishing anglers have been using eggs, jigs tipped with maggots, small spinners, or nightcrawlers.  Fly anglers have been using egg patterns, streamers and/or nymphs in the shallow runs and deep pockets.
